LD died Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, Washington. LD (LeRoy Dean) Charf, son of DeWayne and Dorothy Dean (Burch) Charf, was born March 1, 1943, in his grandparents Russell and Hattie Burch's home in Royal, Nebraska. He attended Meridian Elementary School, Kent Junior High and Kent Meridian High School graduating in 1961. LD graduated from Washington State University in 1966 with a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering. LD married Reeney OReilley on August 29, 2009, at their home on Vashon Island, WA. Between the two of them they raised five children: Chad Charf of Shoreline, WA, Tara Charf of Seattle, WA, Schuyler Charf VanderHoek of Santa Barbara, CA, Mystic OReilley of Portland, OR and Brandon OReilley of San Diego, CA. LD resided on Spring Lake in Maple Valley, WA, for several years followed by 37 years on Capital Hill in Seattle, WA. He moved to Vashon Island, WA in 2008. He was employed as a registered Architect from 1966 until his passing. LD was an avid car enthusiast and a member of three auto clubs: The PSRG (Puget Sound Regional Group #18), the Early Ford V-8 Club of America, and The Cascade Austin Healey Club of Puget Sound. He was a dear friend to many. LD passed on October 23, 2019, at the age of 76. The last two months of his life were filled with many visits from his family and many friends. LD always wanted to come back home to his roots back in Nebraska. Survivors include his wife, Reeney; five children; and five precious grandchildren, Cayden, Amelia, Thijs, Orson and Kai. LD is also survived by his sister Linda Klopfer and brother-in-law Bruce Klopfer and their extended family. LD was preceded in death by his parents, DeWayne and Dorothy Charf; and grandparents, Russell and Hattie Burch and Ed and Martha Charf. (brockhausfuneralhome.com/obituary)
