Born on March 23, 1926, on 21 Lane at McCoole, he was a son of the late Edgar R. and Sadie R. (Ketterman) Iser. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Julie Ann Goldsworthy, a son, James Leroy Iser, a sister, Virginia Iser and two brothers, Edgar "Shorty" Iser and Bernard Iser. Rawlings, went to be with his Lord on Monday, Feb, 3, 2003, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va. Born on March 23, 1926, on 21 Lane at McCoole, he was a son of the late Edgar R. and Sadie R. (Ketterman) Iser. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Julie Ann Goldsworthy, a son, James Leroy Iser, a sister, Virginia Iser and two brothers, Edgar "Shorty" Iser and Bernard Iser. Mr. Iser was retired as a yard supervisor with 26 years of service with Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries, Works 7, Cumberland, where he had worked from it opening to its closing in 1983. He was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was wounded three times for which he received the Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters. He was a member of Queens Point Memorial Post 6775, F.F. W., McCoole, and the Dawson Senior Citizens and served as its president. He had also formerly served as a Boy Scout Master, and was an Outstanding example of Hard work, honest and respectfulness to all those who knew him. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Clara M. (Crowe) Iser; one son Jerry Wayne Iser and Wife Judi of Cumberland; a son-in-law, Terry Goldsworthy and a daughter-in-law, Thelma Iser, both of Rawlings and Paul Iser of Silver Spring, three sisters, Dora Barb of Westernport, Linda Lease of Rawlings and Rosemary Hott of Bel Air. Also surviving are four grandsons, James, Lonnie and Dustin Iser and Richard Goldsworthy and wife Carrie; four step-grandsons, J.R. Clifford and Mike McCoy and wife Karen and Donald Keller; one step granddaughter, Amanda Turner, one great grandson, Matthew Goldsworthy who will surely miss his Pap; and 19 nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John F. Footen and the Rev. C. Waco Biser officiating. Interment will be in the Waxler Cemetery, Rawlings. Queens Point Memorial Post 6775, V.F. W. will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
