Pitman 1892 – 1965 LeRoy Edwin Rule was born August 30, 1913, on a rural Dundee farm, the son of Henry and Eleanor Pittman Rule. He attended the rural schools and graduated from Lamont High School with the class of 1930. He farmed with his parents until his marriage. Pitman 1892 – 1965 LeRoy Edwin Rule was born August 30, 1913, on a rural Dundee farm, the son of Henry and Eleanor Pittman Rule. He attended the rural schools and graduated from Lamont High School with the class of 1930. He farmed with his parents until his marriage. LeRoy was united in marriage to Della Ann Helms Kash on October 8, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lamont. They farmed and lived on the Kash farm near Dundee for the rest of their lives. Della entered into her eternal rest April 23, 2002. LeRoy continued living on the farm until Dec. 2006, when he moved to the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home. LeRoy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lamont, the Lamont Solomon Masonic Lodge, and El Kahir Shrine of Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, gardening and growing flowers. He was a frequent visitor to the Golden Age Meal Site in Manchester and enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. LeRoy entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home following a short illness. He was 93 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Della; one sister, Maycle; and one brother, Earl. Survivors include his three children: John (Carol) Kash of Charlotte, IA; Mary Alice (Roy) Johnston of Oelwein, and Carolyn (Edward) Bergfeld of Lamont; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister Marjorie Dauenbaugh of Marion; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday April 14, 2007 in the Grace United Methodist Church at Lamont with Rev. John Brockschink officiating and Beth Hamlett providing the music. Casketbearers will be Jerre Kerns, Mike Dauenbaugh, Roland Trimble, Rodney Trimble, Kevin Kash, and Kurt Kash. Interment will be in St. Albert's Cemetery east of Lamont. Friends may call from 4 PM until 7 PM Friday April 13, 2007 at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Lamont and after 9 AM Saturday at the Church. A Masonic service will be conducted by the Lamont Solomon Lodge at 7 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
