Mr. Werner died Saturday, September 22 at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, TX. LeRoy F. Werner, son of Fredrick and Cordina (Wisch) Werner was born December 28, 1923 at Meadow Grove, NE. He was married to Twila Warnke on April 8, 1945 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Meadow Grove. They had two children, Kerry and Judy. LeRoy and Twila farmed in the Norfolk, Tilden, and Neligh area before going into the hay business. LeRoy was later in parts and sales for Nelson Knievel International Harvester in Tilden. He also worked as a salesman for Walnut Grove Feed for many years and then operated the Meadow Grove Feed and Grain. He and Twila wintered at the Tropic Star Resort in Pharr, Texas and became permanent residents in 1997. LeRoy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in McAllen, TX and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. He died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Edinburg, TX at the age of 83. Survivors include his wife, Twila; children, Kerry and Barbara Werner of Meadow Grove, and Judy and Eldon Taake of Meadow Grove; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Werner of Battle Creek, NE; and one sister, Jeannie Brockhaus of Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents.
