Description	:	Roy worked for the CCC in 1941 He Volunteered for the U.S. Navy in 1942. He served during WWII as a radioman and gunner aboard various ships in the Atlantic and Pacific, and was honorably discharge in 1946. Roy Married Kathryn Mae Mason (Booze) on the 23rd of August 1946, in Pierre, Hughes County, South Dakota. During their marriage they had two children, Donna Raye Paradee, and Richard L. Paradee. Roy Married Kathryn Mae Mason (Booze) on the 23rd of August 1946, in Pierre, Hughes County, South Dakota. During their marriage they had two children, Donna Raye Paradee, and Richard L. Paradee. In Jan 1948 he was reactivated in the U.S. Navy and was transporting troops to Korea aboard the U.S.A.T. General D.E. Aultman. He went back to finish High School and received his diploma in 1949 at Burke High School. Roy reenlisted in the U.S. Army after graduating from High school in 1949. During the Korean war he was stationed at Fort Shafter Hawaii as a morse code interceptor supervisor from 1950 to 1952, in 1953 he was promoted to a warrant officer, and later that year to a 2nd Lieutenant. In 1955 he was stationed in Washington D.C. and was promoted to CWO. In 1957 he was station with the 3rd Armored division in Frankfurt Germany and was promoted to 1st Lieutenant. In 1960 he was stationed at the 45th Artillery Brigade, Arlington Heights, Cook, Illinois, and was promoted to Captain. In 1966 he was stationed with the 8th Army, in Seoul, South Korea, and was promoted to Major. He was transferred to Vietnam in 1968 and was the Brigade Signal Officer & XO, HHC 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One), Base Camp Di An (Zeon), South Vietnam. He retired from Military service in 1970 at Fort Sheridan, Lake County, Illinois. During his Military service he received the following Medals. European, African, Middle Eastern Campaign Medal Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal American Campaign Medal World War II Victory Medal National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star Bronze Star With Oak Leaf Cluster Vietnam Service Medal with Triple Bronze Stars Vietnam Campaign Ribbon Combat Infantry Badge Army Commendation Medal Army Reserve Achievement Medal Good Conduct Medal After retiring from the military Roy became a successful real estate salesman for the Forest E. Olsen Company and soon became a manager at one of their offices in Orange County California. Later Forest Olsen was bought out by Coldwell Banker, and he continued on with them as a branch manager for many years. Towards the end of his real estate career he teamed up with John F. Seymour, the mayor of Anaheim, and started their own company with the Realestators.
