A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, SD. Fr. Ken Koster and Fr. Michael Wensing will concelebrate. Music will be provided by Danielle Holmquist-Holida, organist, with the I. C. Choir. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown. Adams Post # 750 of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Watertown, and U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Team. Pallbearers will be: Joshua LeTourneau, Nicholas Grissom, Nathan Hallauer, Dominic Huddleson, Dave Jellis and Jerry Jellis. Visitation will be at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the church prior to the services. LeRoy was born on June 11, 1930, in Florence, SD, to Carl and Bertha (Sonnenschein) Hallauer. After school he farmed and did general carpentry work. In 1950, he entered the U.S. Navy and served until he was honorably discharged in 1954. Following his discharge, he farmed until he moved to St. Paul, MN. He then moved to Watertown, SD, and then to Castlewood. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Castlewood. LeRoy was a member of the DAV and was a life member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a former member of the Eagles. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and working at his computer. He also enjoyed polishing rocks, making jewelry and gardening. He is survived by his children: Cecelia (Jay) Grissom of West Port, IN , Cathrine (James) Squashingroff of Springfield, Mo, Debra LeTourneau of Henry, SD, and Jacqueline (Matthew) Yocum of Madison, SD; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Tom Hallauer, of San Diego, CA; and one sister, Sr. Virginia Hallauer, of Aberdeen, SD. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
