Mr. Bester's mother, Mrs. Mary Bester, of Storm Lake, his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Steig, and their daughter, Ruby, also of Storm Lake; another sister, Mrs. June Ransom of Chicago, and a brother, Eddie Bester, of Omaha, were present at the funeral services. LeRoy Bester, better known as Roy, was born at Carroll July 20, 1892, a son of Mary Bester and the late J.F. Bester. With the exception of the time that he served in the World War, he spent all of his life in Carroll. As a member of the 318th Engineers he spent fourteen months overseas. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mary Bester of Storm Lake, three brothers and three sisters: Henry Bester, Pasadena, Calif.; Eddie Bester, Omaha; Harry Bester, Cherokee, Ia.; Mrs. J.E. Steig (Mabel), Storm Lake; Mrs. F.H. Schoonover (Ida), Belleville, Illinois; and Mrs. June Ransom, Chicago. A sister, Mrs. Minnie Carpenter, died nineteen years ago, and his father died June 3, 1935.
