Description	:	LeRoy William Schluntz, 82 years of age, of rural Huntley, died Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska. LeRoy was born on August 20, 1938, in Holdrege, Nebraska, the fourth of five children, to Julius and Faye (Fuesner) Schluntz. He was baptized when he joined the Huntley United Methodist Church in 1949. Read More	LeRoy William Schluntz, 82 years of age, of rural Huntley, died Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska. LeRoy was born on August 20, 1938, in Holdrege, Nebraska, the fourth of five children, to Julius and Faye (Fuesner) Schluntz. He was baptized when he joined the Huntley United Methodist Church in 1949. He received his primary education from Huntley Public Schools and then attended Huntley High School, graduating with the class of 1956. LeRoy pursued higher education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, for one semester and then transferred to Kansas City and took electrical classes. He continued to farm until 1959, when he was inducted into the United States Army Reserves, for six months and later discharged. On July 26, 1985, LeRoy was united in marriage to Vicki Niemann at the Chapel of the Lake Church near Johnson Lake. The couple made their home on a farm near Huntley and continued to farm until their retirement. LeRoy was a 69 year member of the Huntley United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling and has seen every state west of the Mississippi River, including Alaska and Hawaii. He also enjoyed attending Husker Football games, and cheering on the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. LeRoy was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Merwin Schluntz; brother-in-law, Wendell Ziems; great nieces; and a great nephew. LeRoy leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, Vicki Schluntz of rural Huntley; one brother, Clinton Schluntz and wife, Vivian of Hollinger, Nebraska; two sisters: Genevieve Ziems of Kearney, Nebraska; and Jean Beiriger and husband, William of rural Holdrege; three sisters-in-law: Sharon Schluntz of rural Huntley; Dixie Niemann of Genoa, Nebraska; and Michelle Ossowski and her husband, Steve of Roca, Nebraska; two brothers-in-law: Max Niemann of Lincoln; and David Niemann and his wife, Pam of St. Edward, Nebraska; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
