A resident of Brownsburg, IN, she was born June 26, 1943, in Bedford, IN. She was a graduate of Needmore High School and Indiana University where she earned a bachelors and two graduate degrees in elementary administration. A resident of Brownsburg, IN, she was born June 26, 1943, in Bedford, IN. She was a graduate of Needmore High School and Indiana University where she earned a bachelors and two graduate degrees in elementary administration. Leslie began her teaching career as a second grade teacher at Marshall Township School in Lawrence Co. She then taught second grade in Fontana, CA, sixth grade at Smith-Green Community in Whitley Co., and first grade in Northwest Hendricks School Corporation. She served as principal of Pittsboro Elementary School for fourteen years, retiring in 2001. She was active in many groups. Leslie was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Alpha Delta Kappa, Alpha Chi Omega, The Indiana Principal Leadership Academy Alumni Board, The Hendricks County Community Foundation Advisory Board, and The One Room School Committee in Pittsboro. Her favorite project was seeing the one room school restored and opened to school children as a living history museum. She also enjoyed flower gardening, playing piano, working and playing with the grandchildren. Leslie was preceded in death by an infant brother, Mark Edward Armstrong, and her first husband, Duane Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Steve Hassfurder, Brownsburg, parents Don and Rose Bridwell Armstrong, Springville, IN. Children are Doug Wilson, Ellettsville, Marisa Donovan, Brownsburg, Holly Cooper, Indianapolis, Lorrie Hassfurder, Indianapolis. Grandchildren are: Sawyer and Chaney Donovan, Brownsburg, Emma, Katie and Hayden Wilson, Ellettsville, and Makayla, Kaitlyn, and Camden Cooper, Indianapolis. Two surviving brothers are Joe Armstrong and Alan Armstrong, Springville, IN. Viewing will be at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, from 4-8 p.m. Mon. Sept. 5, 2005. Funeral Services will be at Cornerstone Christian Church at 10 a.m. Tues. Sept. 6, 2005. Committal services and burial will be at Lowder Cemetery, Springville, IN, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pittsboro One Room School, Northwest Hendricks School Corporation, Lizton, IN 46149, or Indiana University Cancer Center for Multiple Myeloma research, make gifts payable to IUFIUCC Gifts, designated "Miles for Myeloma", and mail to IU Cancer Center, Office of Gift Development LO 506, PO Box 67, Indianapolis, IN 46209-8763, Attn: Amber Senseny.
