The son of Dean and Ruth Galyen, he was born June 17, 1953 at Tilden and died July 26, 1981 at University Hospital in Omaha, where he was being treated for cystic fibrosis. A 1971 graduate of Elkhorn Valley High School, Galyen worked for six years with Midwest Bridge and Construction Co., at a gravel pit north of Meadow Grove. He had also worked at the Norfolk Regional Center. In October of 1979 his illness with Cystic Fibrosis prevented him from further work. He was an avid sports fan and had a great knowledge of all the statistics. He was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ at Tilden. Leslie died early in the morning of July 26 1981, at the University Hospital in Omaha. He was 28 years of age. Surviving are his parents; two brothers, Lyle of Tilden and Jerry of Ceres, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. David (Kathleen) Wolfe of Omaha; Mrs, Jacque Hansen of Tilden, and Mrs Ken (Joline) Rittscher of Battle Creek; two nieces and nine nephews; grandmother, Mrs. Lelia Carpenter of Tilden; and one step-grandmother, Mrs. Helen Galyen of Tilden.
