In the eastbound machine operated by Garrison were his brothers-in-law, Robert Caywood, 22, and Robert Hoover, 18, both of Warsaw. The three had attended the night session of the Logansport rodeo. Caywood remains confined to the Dukes hospital, Peru, suffering with a severe back injury and a bad scalp laceration. His condition is serious. Hoover was removed to Wabash after recieving treatment and bruises at the Peru hospital. The accident occurred between the bridge that spans the Wabash railroad and the Half-Way Inn. Charles Williams, who was awakened by the crash and James Newly, who resides near Peru, rushed the three injured men to Peru in the Newby car and upon arriving at the hospital Garrison was pronounced dead. In view of the fact that it was not ascertained that the motorist had been injured fatally until after he was removed to the hospital Dr. M.B. Stewart, Cass county coroner, released the body to Miami county officials, who will conduct inquest. Sheriff Dewey Schmidt and State policemen Fisher and Leavett investigated the accident at the scene of the crash. Officers expressed belief that the machine left the pavement when the driver attempted to negotiate the curve at too fast a speed. The automobile, purchased last week by Garrison, was demolished. It came to a stop in a field several yards beyond the right-of-way. Garrison, who was employed by the Container Corporation in Wabash is survived by the widow, the former Norma Lee Hoover of Warsaw, a son, Larry Dean; his father, Fred Garrison of Wabash, and his mother, who resides in Illinois. The body was prepared for burial at the Hoover funeral home in Wabash, where funeral rites will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Ware Wimberly in charge. Burial will be made in Falls cemetery, Wabash.
