Description	:	Leslie W. Crane was born 18 Nov.,1865-1866 in Sandusky Co., Ohio. After the Civil War his mother remarried and moved to Iowa, and while still a young boy he worked as a farm hand. He left Iowa around 1886 and spent time in Wyoming and Colorado working for ranchers making trips on horseback and often sleeping on the open prairie without shelter from the elements. Crane was born 18 Nov.,1865-1866 in Sandusky Co., Ohio. After the Civil War his mother remarried and moved to Iowa, and while still a young boy he worked as a farm hand. Around 1887 he settled on an area in the Hat Creek Basin of Sioux Co., Nebraska in the western part the state and traveled back and forth to Wyoming to find work. He also worked in Harrison, Nebraska earning enough to make improvements on his land. He married Emma J. Sherrill on 3 August, 1890 in Harrison, Sioux Co., Nebraska. The couple had one daughter, Elva Ellen Crane born 24 July, 1892 in Harrison, and died 23 Oct., 1980 in Arlington, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts. She married Lawrence Francis McGonagle April 21, 1919 at Harrison, Sioux Co., Nebraska. Leslie and Emma separated around 1900, as by 1901 she had remarried to a Samuel E. Porter. Leslie married Lila Parkinson in 1917. In the later part of his life he moved to the Pleasant Ridge area where he was said to have owned 640 acres of land, and a good amount of cattle and horses. .....................
