Description	:	Les passed away early Monday morning at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 6 days. Leslie Wayne Sherman, son of Paul Wayne and Ramona Joyce Poe Sherman, was born March 10, 1951 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was a 1960 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. Les initially worked for Pella Corporation and then drove a truck for different trucking companies. Read More	Les passed away early Monday morning at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 6 days. Leslie Wayne Sherman, son of Paul Wayne and Ramona Joyce Poe Sherman, was born March 10, 1951 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was a 1960 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. Les initially worked for Pella Corporation and then drove a truck for different trucking companies. He was lastly employed as a welder and painter at Vermeer Manufacturing for 15 years, until his health required his retirement in 2008. In his free time, Les enjoyed fishing , hunting, watching NASCAR and N.F.L. football. He loved his dogs and spending time with his grandson, Darrick. Les' family includes his daughter, Rita Van Dyk of FL; his grandson, Darrick Van Dyk, also of Zephyrhills; a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Diana Sherman of Oskaloosa; a sister and brother-in-law, Pam & Lee Adams of Beacon; and aunts: Shirley Mitrisin of Beacon, Bonnie Stout of New Sharon and Patricia Vance of Tracy. Les was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation: will begin at 11 am Thursday morning, January 19, 2012 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 5-7 pm to greet visitors. Funeral Service: 10:30 am Friday morning, January 20, 2012 at the chapel with Pastor Alvern Boetsma of the Good News Chapel officiating. Interment: Beacon Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name.
