February 19, 1990 - Surry County, North Carolina - Obituary from the Mount Airy News; DOBSON - Mrs. Lessie Harris Stanley, 89, of Rt. 4, Dobson, widow of Ernest H. Stanley, died Sunday afternoon at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born April 13, 1900 in Surry County, the daughter of William C. (Bud) and Nicey Marion Harris. She was a member of New Home Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held Tuesay at 2 p.m. at the Moody Funeral Chapel in Dobson, conducted by the Reverend Orville Bledsoe and the Reverend Linda Greene. Burial will be in the Copeland Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. James (Freeda) White and Mrs. Pauline Davis, both of Rt. 3, Dobson, and Mrs. Troy (Rumell) Whitaker of Rt.. 4, Dobson; three sons, Billy J. Stanley of North Wilkesboro, Wayne Stanley of Mount Airy and Harrell Stanley of Concord; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Thelma Martin of Rt. 1, Ararat. Her body will remain at Moody Funeral Home at Dobson for the services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Copeland Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. (Bio by: K. Ned Beasley).
