He was born July 10, 1933 at Lexington, Nebraska to Ernest and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Neben. He attended the Parochial Lutheran School at Buffalo, Nebraska and then graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1951. He was married to Twila Knoedler March 15, 1959 at First Lutheran Church at Buffalo. She preceded him in death March 26, 1998. He then married Janet Jo Hart on July 24, 1999. Lester was an airplane pilot for 37 years. He used his flying to help in his farming/ranching operation. At the time of his death he was still very active in the Nebraska Chapter of the International flying Farmer's Association where he held all the offices in the organization. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, Nebraska, a member of the Air Life Line, an organization that provides transportation to medical facilities for those in need of treatment without the means for travel. Lester was an extremely kind man. He enjoyed his faring operation, his family and his flying very much. His zest for life and helping others will be missed by all who knew him.
