He died on the operating table at the Iowa Sanitarium, from fracture of the skull and loss of blood. Howard and Milton Safly, bound for school, crashed with the Tyler motorcycle, as they were going east and Tyler coming north. The sheriff was called and in checking up to see where the responsibility for the accident lies. Tyler was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tyler and was young man of splendid reputation and a hard worker. From Nevada Evening Journal January 25, 1933 (page 3) TYLER FUNERAL SERVICES TODAY HELD IN CHRISTIAN CHURCH; INTERMENT IN NEVADA CEMETERY Final rites for Lester G. Tyler, 24, Nevada young man who met a tragic death in a motor crash on the streets here early Monday, were held at the Church of Christ here this afternoon at 2:30, with his pastor Rev. LeRoy Kinser in charge. Interment followed in the Nevada cemetery, the funeral party being followed from the church to the cemetery by a large concourse of relatives and friends of the beloved young man. Lester G. Tyler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Tyler of 804 D avenue, was born in Nevada July 19, 1908 and had lived his life here with the exception of 8 years. He had attended the public school until he was in his Sophomore year when he quit school to go to work. For the past two years he had been employed at the Tarman meat market, where he had gained a wide acquaintance and many friends. A number of years ago he had accepted Christ as his Lord and united with the Church of Christ here continuing in that faith until his tragic death. He leaves to mourn his death his parents, one sister Lavon, and three brothers, Lawrence, Frank, Jr., and Billy Dean. To grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George T. Fry of Nevada, and a number of more distant relatives and a host of friends join with the immediate family in mourning his untimely death. Lester Tyler was a young man who made friends with all with whom he came in contact and he will be missed in the coummunity.
