Description	:	Lester Johnson, 60, route 4, Le Mars, died Saturday, April 7, 1990 in a farm accident on his farm. Funeral services were held &t 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran church in Craig. Rev, Beth Graham officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson funeral home of Le Mars. Mr. Johnson was born June 6, 1929, in Plymouth county to Onno and Anna (Popken) Johnson. Burial was in the church cemetery, under direction of the Mauer-Johnson funeral home of Le Mars. Mr. Johnson was born June 6, 1929, in Plymouth county to Onno and Anna (Popken) Johnson. He married Edna Lubben of Le Mars, Aug. 14, 1949 at Christ Lutheran Church in Grant township. He was a lifelong Plymouth county resident and farmer. Mr. Johnson was a life-long member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran church at Craig, and held many offices in the church. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Craig school board, and served on the Farmers Co-op Elevator board and Co-op Gas and Oil board. He was currently serving as president of the Plymouth REC board of directors and served 10 years on the NIPCO board of directors. He was awarded the Master Farmers award in 1975. Survivors include his wife, Edna of Le Mars; three daughters, Gail and her husband, Kent Jones of Le Mars, Mary and her husband, Verdayne Brandenburg of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Kathy and her husband, Conrad Hoffsommer of Decorah; four granddaughters, Jennifer and Rachel Brandenburg and Bethan and Coririne Jones; two sisters, Velda and her husband, LaVerne Benson of Rapid City, S.D. and Lucille and her husband, Fred Tanner of Hartley and a sister-in-law, Lois Johnson of Le Mars.
