Description	:	Lester H Matthiesen funeral Friday The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, for Lester Henry Matthiesen, 70, of 1804 8th Ave. S, who died Tuesday at Clinton Retirement Village. The Rev. Wayne Brinkmann will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Pape Funeral home, and from 9 a.m. until the service time Friday at the church. Mr. Matthiesen was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Elvira, to Arthur and Lillian Kunde Matthiesen. He married Goldie Weigandt, March 12, 1944, in Charlotte. He farmed until moving to Clinton in 1950. He worked at Clinton Corn Processing for over 29 years. He was a custodian at Chancy Lutheran Church, and caretaker at St. Mary's Cemetery until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, country music and tractor shows. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janice Matthiesen of Clinton; a brother, Allan Elias of Davenport; and a sister, Karen Elias Eschbach of DeWitt.
