He was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Iola, Kansas, to Lester S. and Cora (Hufferd) Garver. He grew up in Iola and was graduated from Iola high school. He was inducted into the United States Army Aug. 26, 1942, at Ft. Leavenworth. He served during World War II and was honorably discharged Feb. 16, 1946, at Camp Chafee, AR. He was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Iola, Kansas, to Lester S. and Cora (Hufferd) Garver. He grew up in Iola and was graduated from Iola high school. He was inducted into the United States Army Aug. 26, 1942, at Ft. Leavenworth. He served during World War II and was honorably discharged Feb. 16, 1946, at Camp Chafee, AR. On Dec. 20, 1942, he was married to Maxine B. Bair. She died May 3, 2002. He was a member of Humboldt Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing and visiting with friends and family. He is survived by a son, C.L. "Charlie" and wife, Kathy, of Anchor Point, AK; a brother, Robert and wife, Carol, of Arkadelphia, AR; a sister, Eileen Steele, of Bloomfield, NM; three grandchildren, Chuck Garver and Tina Wyngaert, of Ferndale, WA, and Bob Garver, of Elmirage, AZ; two great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. A granddaughter, Wendy Garver Cowden, died earlier. Inurnment will be Jan. 31, 2007 in Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas. *****************************
