Varner, was born March 25, 1907, at Seward, Nebraska, and passed away Sunday morning September 21, 1947 at the age of 40 years, 5 months, and 26 days. He was baptized as a child. Later he was confirmed as a number of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Seward, Nebraska, by Pastor- C. H. Becker. He remained a faithful and active member of this church until his death. In the past year and a half, he had been a faithful and hard-working member of the Board for Parish Education in St. John's Lutheran Church. He was graduated from the Seward City schools and for two years attended a business college in York, Nebraska. In 1927 he became an employee of Koltermann's Ben Franklin Store and remained there until July of this year when his health forced him to remain at home. On December 23, 1928 he was united in marriage to Olga A. Henriksen at Gresham, Nebraska, by the bride's father, Pastor H. M. Henriksen. To this union two children were born, Roger Vaughn, age 10, and Kathryn Elise age 2. His father passed away in 1929. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, two children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Furnald; one brother, Kenneth Varner; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law, other relatives and a large number of friends.
