Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2018 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Lidgerwood, ND. Burial with military honors by the Lidgerwood American Legion Bullis Post #84 and the North Dakota National Guard will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lidgerwood, ND. Lester Lyons was born January 24, 1929 at Geneseo, ND, to Edward and Amelia (Woytassek) Lyons. He attended school in Geneseo & Liberty Grove Township. He worked for the R.E.A. and Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Fargo. He farmed until 1951 when he entered the US Army. He was stationed at Fort Bliss, TX and Essex, MD. He was discharged in 1953. After his discharge he worked for All Weather Roofing in Minneapolis, MN. On June 20, 1955 he married Jacqueline Slaby. After their marriage they lived in West Fargo, ND for a short while then moved to Inglewood, CA where he worked for General Motors Company. They returned to Lidgerwood in 1957. He worked for Bob Wisnewski, Sr. and later raised cattle and worked for All Weather Roofing. He went back to farming in 1958. He and his son farmed together until 1993 until his heart surgery. Lester enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time at their trailer at West Battle Lake fishing and going to the casino.
