Lester Wilmer Postma was born on a farm near Rock Valley, IA on August 30, 1928, the son of Gerrit and Helen (VandeBurgt) Postma. In 1931 he moved with his family to the Lennox area. Lester Wilmer Postma was born on a farm near Rock Valley, IA on August 30, 1928, the son of Gerrit and Helen (VandeBurgt) Postma. In 1931 he moved with his family to the Lennox area. He attended LaValley rural school and grew to manhood there. On Aug.30, 1949 he was united in marriage to Fern Steever at Ebenezer Manse in Lennox. Following their marriage they lived in Sioux Falls, farmed north of Lennox and near Harrisburg for 20 years. In 1971 they moved to their farm near Chancellor where they continued farming until 2009 when they moved to Sioux Falls. Lester was a faithful member of Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where he served as a Trustee and a Deacon for many years. Farming was his life and he enjoyed fishing and trips to the Black Hills. He was preced in death by his father on Jun. 19, 1984; his mother on Apr. 18, 1991; a son-in-law: David Mayer on Mar. 27, 1986; two brothers: one in infancy and Marvin Postma in 2010. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Fern, of Sioux Falls; one son: Loren (Deb) Postma of Chancellor; three daughters: Linda Mayer of Chester, Glenda (Jeff) Viereck of Hartford and Denise (Warren) Fickbohm of Brandon; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers: LeRoy (Elfrieda) Postma, Shindler; Gerald (Bonnie) P:ostma and Edward (Frances) Postma, both of Sioux Falls; three sisters: Jean Bultena (Larry Morrow) of Burkburnett, TX, Viola Boulthouse of Mitchell, and Ruth (Marshall) Johnson, Hurley.
