Wittich Funeral Home. The Rev. Lawrence Lee, pastor of the Cranston Evangelical United Brethren church, will officiate and burial will be in the Cranston cemetery. Mrs. Burton died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday at University hospital in Iowa City after an illness of complications. She had been ill since October of last year. The daughter of Clarence J. and Inez Warnstaff Powell, she was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Muscatine and had resided here all her life. She was married to Arthur Burton in Ottumwa on March 26, 1944. Her husband services along with one son, Robert Alvin Burton, Muscatine; two daughters, Darlene and Helen Burton, Muscatine; her mother, Mrs. Inez Powell, and three brothers, Thomas, Charles and Raymond, all of Muscatine. MAXINE BURTON Funeral services for Maxine Powell Burton, 24, who died at the University hospital in Iowa City Saturday night, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral home with the Rev. Lawrence Lee of Cranston in charge. Mrs. Floyd Scott was organist and vocalist was Mrs. Pearl Gipple. Flower attendants included June Kerschenski, Hazel Newcomb, Shirley Groters and Erma Powell Serving as pallbearers were Richard Ryan, Mylo Viner, John Earnest, Eldon Yardly, Gaylord Viner and Edwin Groters. Interment was in the Cranston cemetery.
