She had been critically ill since suffering a stroke on January 22. Born Aug 26, 1918, in Louisville, Ky., she was the daughter of the late John L. and Nancy (May) Dawson. Calimer, 72 of 1618 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, Md., died at 8:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb 3, in the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been critically ill since suffering a stroke on January 22. Born Aug 26, 1918, in Louisville, Ky., she was the daughter of the late John L. and Nancy (May) Dawson. She lived in the Louisville area in her early life. She graduated from high school and attended two years of business college in Louisville. Mrs. Calimer served in the U. S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. She was employed at Fort Ritchie in the engineering department as a secretary and later at Fort Detrick as a processing agent of medical supplies for the Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital. She retired in 1977 after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Cascade, where she served as treasurer and organist for a number of years. She was also a member of the national AARP. She and her husband, Harvey D. Calimer Sr., lived at the present address for the past 20 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Nancy M. Feutz of Fayetteville, N.C., and Mary K. Ressler of Waynesboro; two sons, Harvey David Calimer Jr., of Frederick, Md., and John R. Calimer of Sabillasville; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Weber and Mary Jean Hume, both of Louisville, and Ethel Hamilton of Greensburg, In., and one brother, John Dawson of Louisville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Germantown Church of God Cascade, with the Revs. Patricia A. Drake and Paul Tobias officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. There will be no viewing at the church on Thursday. Contributor: Crystal Payne (46792320)
