Description	:	Leverett Kinsley Storm was born Dec. 4, 1846 in Florence, Oneida County, New York. He was the son of John Davenport and Martha Mary (Willse) Storm. His family moved to Richland, Oswego County, New York in 1850. In July, 1865, the family moved to Fort Atkinson, Jefferson County, Wisconsin where he met Sarah Ellen Roberts. Read More	Leverett Kinsley Storm was born Dec. 4, 1846 in Florence, Oneida County, New York. He was the son of John Davenport and Martha Mary (Willse) Storm. His family moved to Richland, Oswego County, New York in 1850. In July, 1865, the family moved to Fort Atkinson, Jefferson County, Wisconsin where he met Sarah Ellen Roberts. He married Sarah in Belle Plaine, Benton County, Iowa on Oct. 13, 1870. They made their home in Fort Atkinson. In the spring of 1873, Leverett and family moved to Clermont, Fayette County, Iowa with his parents. In the spring of 1874, he moved his family to Belle Plaine, Iowa where they lived with Sarah's parents while Leverett looked for a homestead in Nebraska. Leverett moved his family to Wanda Township near Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska in the spring of 1875 were he homesteaded 160 acres. He sold the ground on April 15, 1885 and moved his family to Kenesaw, Nebraska to live with Sarah's parents while he looked for ground in western Nebraska. Leverett took up a timber claim and pre-empted land in Jamestown Precinct near Winchester, Chase County, Nebraska. He built a sod house on the land and moved his family there May 5, 1886. He is said to have had the first matched team of horses in that part of western Nebraska. The family "starved out" at the farm around 1896 and moved to a rented frame house in Venango, Perkins County, Nebraska, where he worked for the Burlington & Missouri River Railroad. His wife Sarah died there May 17, 1898. Leverett and his five youngest children built a sod house on a rented farm just east of Venango in 1899. He lived there until his death from Pneumonia, December 15, 1901. Leverett was the father of 11 children: Ethel Ellen (Holman), Sep. 3, 1871; Elta Mary (Gorham), Jul. 21, 1873; Elmina Sarah (Bock), Jan. 13, 1875; Ruby Janette (Putney), Jan. 18, 1877; Ivy Irene (Warner), Mar. 24, 1880; Lillian Belle (Grelck), Jul. 17, 1882; Amy Opal (Boesewetter), Sep. 25, 1884; Walter Leroy, Jan. 16, 1887; Wayne Ashley, Jul. 30, 1889; Adelaide, Mar. 18, 1892 (died Dec. 24, 1892) and Lester Kimbal, Dec. 7, 1893.
