He was born April 5, 1920, in Concordia to Victor and Henrietta (Goyette) Deneault. He attended Concordia rural schools. Levi was in World War II, serving from November 1941 to September 1945. He served in the 5th Air Force Bomber crew in the South Pacific. Levi received a Purple Heart. He returned home in 1945 to farming in the Concordia area. He married Delores Schmitt on Oct. 22, 1947.
