Read More	Coon Rapids Enterprise May 22, 1896 Page 1 Levi Beadell, one of the oldest settlers of Carroll County died Wednesday about noon and was buried yesterday in the Coon Rapids Cemetery. Mr. Beadell is highly spoken of by his old neighbors and friends. He was the father of Mrs. D. M. Grove and Mrs. A.L. Pierson. We have endeavoured to share some particulars of his life, but we have been unable to do so. Coon Rapids Enterprise May 29, 1896 Page 1 Since mention of the death of Mr. Levi Beadell last week have learned that he was born in western New York, near Auburn, February 27th, 1821. That he married Miss Polly Sweet at the age of 21. Moved to Wisconsin, then to Missouri, then to Dubuque county, la., and from there to Carroll county in 1874 where he resided until his death, May 20th, 1896. His wife died a few years ago, since which time he lived among his children, one residing near Audubon, another Mrs. D. M. Grove, at Nevada, and another, Mrs. A. L. Pierson, near Coon Rapids, at whose home he passed his last hours. He was sick about three weeks with a complication of diseases. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Anderson at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Pierson, Thursday, the 21st, in the presence of a large number of friends, his children and several relatives. The deceased is highly spoken of by his acquaintances and friends. He was a hard working man, honest in his dealings and well respected. His life, like that of most men, was uneventful, except in those things that happen to the ordinary life. All have their hardships, their times of sorrow as well as hours of gladness, and his lot was not different in the whole from that of others. He was blessed on that his companion lived till the evening of life, until they could almost number fifty years of companionship—a long span of years for husband and wife to enjoy each other's lives.
