Description	:	Levi Bond was the son of Joseph S. and Rachel (Harrold) Bond. He married the 1st of 12mo 1840 at Dover Friend Meeting, Lydia Williams. In 1842 he and his wife transferred their membership to Sparrow Creek Friends Meeting. In 1844 Levi and his wife were disowned by the orthodox Friends for joining the Anti-Slavery Friends, but she was reinstated at Sparrow Creek--Poplar Run in 1854 and he in 1855. Read More	Levi Bond was the son of Joseph S. and Rachel (Harrold) Bond. He married the 1st of 12mo 1840 at Dover Friend Meeting, Lydia Williams. In 1842 he and his wife transferred their membership to Sparrow Creek Friends Meeting. In 1844 Levi and his wife were disowned by the orthodox Friends for joining the Anti-Slavery Friends, but she was reinstated at Sparrow Creek--Poplar Run in 1854 and he in 1855. In 1857 he transferred his membership back to Dover Friends Meeting. The Bond genealogy says of him that "he was interested in the history of his ancestors and delighted in talking about Bonds and Beals long since deceased." He died the 24th of December 1893, and was buried on the 27th. His funeral was conducted by the eminent Friends minister Allen Jay. He and his wife had only one child, a son, Jehiel. "The Christian Worker, 1st mo 18, 1894 BOND--Levi Bond was born the 4th of 11th Mo. 1815, within a mile of the place of his death. He died at Webster, Ind., Christmas eve, 1893, aged 78 years, 1 month and 20 days. He leaves a wife, an only son, Jehiel Bond, and family, two brothers, and many relatives and friends to mourn his loss. He early became interested in religious work, being converted while young, and became a Sabbath school teacher in about the first Sabbath school held at Webster. He has always a been an earnest worker in the Sabbath school and held the position of teacher at the time of his death. He lived in Webster all his life, except about fourteen years that he lived in Randolph Co., Ind., and many there are who will remember the words of wisdom and comfort given to them by him, and feel that they have indeed lost a friend and brother and father. He was faithful in the church attendance, anxious to have his work done. In his last words his testimony was, 'If I go now, my work is done, but if I get up again there is something more for me to do. There is nothing worth working for but heaven, and we must do our own work.' He was married to Lydia Williams in Dover meeting house and they have traveled life's journey together for over 53 years. He died in the evening as the sun went down in a clear sky and sent back its golden rays, likewise, he died in the evening of his days, in a clear sky with the golden promises of God shining down upon us in the loving messages which he gave and the many promises of God which he repeated to us, and his last words as he turned his eyes toward heaven were: 'Oh the wonderful goodness of God.'"
