About 6 o'clock this morning occured the death of Levi Bright, at his farm residents in Treaty. The deceased had been ill of brain disease during the past year and gradually failing but had been acutely ill but the past ten days. Dr. A. J. Smith, who has been attending him, found him failing, but Thursday considered him somewhat better but held out little hopes of his recovery, and his death this morning was not unexpected by his friends and relatives. Levi Bright was born in this Decatur county, November 11, 1840, and has resided in this county thirty-three years. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Bright. He was a prosperous farmer and stock raiser, possessing quite a large farm at the time of his death. He associated himself with no church but was a sturdy, honest, business man who merited the esteem of all who knew him. He leaves seven children, five sons and two daughters, and his widow, besides a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. In 1862, Mr. Bright enlisted in the thirteenth Indiana battery of the union army, and served until the close of the war. He was married to Miss Mary E. Crabill, June 13th, 1866. The funeral services will occur at the house Sunday afternoon, at two o'clock, Rev. Burr. of the Liberty Presbyterian church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Dr. Charles Little.
