Military rites were by the Ceremonials teams of Manning's American Legion and FVW Posts. Son of Andrew and Meta Jacobsen Hansen, he was born Nov. 1, 1887 near Kimballton. As a child he went to Denmark with his mother and attended school there. Following her death, he returned to the United States to live with his grandparents and finish his schooling. On Feb. 11, 1923 he was married to Nettie Christensen. They farmed in Shelby and Crawford Counties and moved to Manning in 1958. In failing health for eleven months, he died on Friday, Oct. 24, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison. He was preceded by a daughter, at the age of three; his parents, a brother and two sisters.
