EVANS Llewellyn Vere Evans was born Oct. 21, 1913, at Norden, to L. G. and Gertrude Evans, and died Feb. 23, 1981, at Rapid City SD. He grew up and attended school in the Norden area and was married to Bernice Bjorklund on May 21, 1936, at Norden. They farmed in the Norden area until 1947 when they moved to Ainsworth where he was employed by International Harvester and while there he enjoyed flying his own plane as a hobby. In 1952 they moved to Rapid City where he owned and operated a TV and Radio repair service and worked as a carpenter. He was jailer at the Pennington County Jail for seven years and custodian at the Canyon Lake Senior Citizens Center for five years. At the time of his death he was custodian at the City-County Public Safety Building in Rapid City. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, a charter member of Ainsworth Elks Lodge 1790 and the United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two infant sons and a brother Ernest. He is survived by his wife Bernice, Rapid City; a sister, Alma Hollingsworth, Ainsworth, brother, Clair Evans, Springview, several nieces and nephews. Services were held Feb. 26 at the United Methodist Church in Ainsworth with the Rev. William Armold officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. E. E. Copes and Kenneth Fling. Pallbearers were Everette Copes, Chet Goochey, Wayne Clark, Clement Foster, Gerald Skinner, Don Rossenbach. Interment was in the Ainsworth Cemetery.
