Wight, 71, postmaster at Gibbon, died Sunday night, passing away peacefully after weeks of suffering, having had three strokes of paralysis, the last one coming last week. Funeral services were held this afternoon at two o'clock from the Presbyterian church. Rev. Homer Hix, of the Methodist church in charge of the service. Burial was made in the Riverside cemetery. Mr. Wight, who had lived in Gibbon fifty years, had been in the employ of the post office department for about twenty years, serving first as a rural mail carrier and then for a period of twelve years as postmaster. he resigned that office last November because of his ill health and the work was taken over by his wife, Minnie Wight. (Lewis A. and Minnie Fulmer Wight were married April 2, 1891 in Buffalo County. Clyde Fulmer Wight is their only child.) Besides his widow, he is survived by an adopted child and two brothers, Arthur E. Wight, Gibbon, and Clarence E. Wight, who lives in Canada.
