LaMott, of Packwood,... Read More	OBITUARY LEWIS B. LEE Funeral service for Lewis Bennett Lee, son of Bennett and Lucy Ann Lee, were conducted from the home Sunday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev. R.L. LaMott, of Packwood, Iowa. Mr. Lee was born at Decatur, Michigan, March 20, 1869 and departed this life at his home near Letts at 7:40 a.m. Friday, August 27, 1926 at the age of 57 years, 5 months, and 7 days. He came to Iowa in 1892 and resided in the vicinity of Columbus Junction, Iowa, until his death. He was united in marriage on July 25, 1894 to Tillie C. Dallmeyer, who with the following children survive to mourn his death. Rubye M., wife of J. W. Hendrickson, of Glandwin, IA; Winnifred, of Oakdale, IA; Russel V., of Muscatine, Iowa; Helen, Edward and Maxwell at home. One son, Wyman D., preceded him in death. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two brothers, Edwin W., of Decatur, Mich., and Frederick, of Strool, South Dakota, two sisters, Mrs. J.H. Hamlin and Mrs. Ellsworth Graham, both of Decatur, Mich., besides a host of other relatives and friends. At the special request of the deceased the friends and neighbors sang "Nearer My God To Thee" and Mr. L.E. Parsons sang "Death is Only A Dream," and "Bury Me Near My Old Home". Burial was in Letts cemetery. Mr. Lee suffered a paralytic stroke on August 5th which with other complications resulted in his death. He was a man of high moral character and integrity and will be sadly missed by the family to who he was a kind and loving husband and father. The pallbearers were: Ed Dodder, L. U. Gipple, Ulrick Garrett, Nelson Meeker, Hugh Newell and J.T. Paullins. Those in charge of the many beautiful flowers were: Mrs. M.C. Ross and Mrs. E.R. McCormick.
