Read More	================================= Rockville Republican Rockville, Indiana Lewis Hobson, 7th child and 4th boy in a family of 12 children of 7 boys and 5 girls of Isaac and Evaline McMasters Hobson, was born in Liberty township, Parke county, Ind., Oct 30, 1867, and passed to the great beyond Oct. 21, 1922, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 21 days in the Masonic home at Franklin. Uncle Lewis, as he was most commonly called, grew to manhood near where he was born. He received his schooling at old Rushcreek school which at the time was under the supervision and control of the Friends church, and which was one of the most efficient common schools in the county or state and which produced scores of noted readers and spellers of whom he and his brothers George and Eli were honored and worthy members, and each were among the first chosen in the spirited and hotly contested spelling bees that they so frequently engaged in and enjoyed. He was an honest and upright man and of a quiet and unassuming disposition, loved and respected by everyone. He was noted for his wonderful memory. Many of his relatives and friends went to him for information on many subjects. Rarely anything of importance escaped his memory especially in former years. He was never married. Brother Lewis Hobson was raised a Master Mason Sept. 28, 1883. He remained a faithful member to the end of life. During the last few years he was at the Masonic home at Franklin where he received every comfort that could be given him. A Parke county paper was sent him by the Sylvania lodge which he either read or had read to him until the last. He enjoyed home news very much and seemed well pleased though away from old acquaintances and relatives. He leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn his departure. Funeral services were held at Rushcreek church Monday, Oct. 23, at 11 o'clock conducted by Rev. Levi Woody. Burial in Rushcreek cemetery. =================================
