Wilson Ave., died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 1997) at Humboldt Memorial County Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Oak Hill Baptist Church, Humboldt, with the Rev. Burial will be with military rites in the Vernon Township Cemetery, Renwick. Visitation will begin after 3 p.m. today at the Wilson Funeral Home, Algona, and after noon Saturday at the church in Humboldt. Lewis Bram was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Renwick. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Mason City; one daughter, Diane Kraling, Klemme; five sons, the Rev. L. Steven Bram, Rapua, New Guinea; Douglas Bram, Ankeny; Dan J. Bram, Burchinal; Todd Bram, Lewiston, Minn., and Bradley Bram, Rockwell; and 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Wilson Ave., died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 1997) in the extended care unit of Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Humboldt. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Oak Hill Baptist Church, Humboldt, with the Rev. Lonnie Wilson and the Rev. Kenneth Stoakes officiating. Military graveside rites will be held in the Vernon Cemetery, Renwick, with Bill Ryburn, Harold Haugen, Joe Crossley, Bud Bergman, Dave Ripley and Glen Wigans serving as honorary bearers and Shawn Bram, Eric S. Kraling, Douglas L. Bram, Todd H. Bram, Daniel J. Bram and Bradley G. Bram serving as casket bearers. The Wilson Funeral Home, Algona, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will continue after noon today the church. Lewis Bram, the son of Henry and Jennie (Rasmussen) Bram, was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Renwick. He attended the Vernon Consolidated Schools and then farmed with his parents. After serving in the United States Army from 1943 to 1944, he returned to the home farm. On Oct. 17, 1948, he and Patricia Ann Guy were united in marriage at Renwick. They farmed the family farm near Renwick for 12 years before moving, in 1960, to a Cerro Gordo farm near Rockwell. After retiring in 1985, the couple moved to Mason City, which was close enough for him to still enjoy his farm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockwell. He enjoyed attending auctions, gardening, woodworking and furniture repair. The Brams especially enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren as well as spending time at their summer home, a log cabin he built, in Wauben, Minn. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia; one daughter, Diane D. Kraling and her husband, Eric, of Klemme; five sons, L. Steven Bram and his wife, Elaine, of Papua, New Guinea; Douglas L. Bram and his wife, Janna, of Ankeny; Dan J. Bram of Burchinal, and his special friend, Laurel Ruth, of Clear Lake; Todd H. Bram and his wife, Kelly, of Lewiston, Minn.; Bradley G. Bram and his wife, Jeanette, of Rockwell; 20 grandchildren, Heather McCarthy, Lewis Bram III, Shawn Bram, Craig Pearce, Annie Bram, Patricia Pearce, Jennie Bonjour, Daniella Bram, Emily Pearce, Daisy Bram, Andrew Bram, Stephanie Bram, Lacey Bram, Kady Bram, Benjamin Bram, Allie Bram, Seth Bram, Rosalie Bram, Molly Kraling and Loretta Kraling. Also surviving are a brother, Jake Bram, Oskaloosa; and five sisters, Betty Ripley of Perry; Jennie Norden of Denver, Colo.; Eldine Adams of Tipton; Anita Olsen, Cedar Rapids, and Matilda White of Renwick; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
