M. Lang Passes Mrs. Gilbert Littell received word Monday morning that her brother Lewis M. Lang a pioneer and former resident of this region died at his home in Colton following an illness of several weeks with a heart ailment. He was born near Centerville, Iowa, November 22, 1874. In 1899 he married Miss Jessie Hawkins and three years later they came to Washington settling on a fruit ranch on the Spokane river, now covered by Long Lake. He sold his ranch when the Long Lake dam was built and bought a stock and wheat ranch southwest of here where he lived several years before retiring and moving into town. Mrs. Lang died in 1910 and five years later he married Miss Louie McConnell also from Centerville who survives at the home in Colton where they moved last September. Other survivors are two daughters, of the former marriage, Mrs. Ruth Hines, Glascow, Montana, and Mrs. Mary Jane Guettenger of Uniontown; two brothers, B. F. Lang and Willis E. Lang both of Spokane; five sisters, Mrs. Alice Holman, Espanola; Mrs. Nettie Heppe and Mrs. Ida MacDeissner Spokane; Mrs. Minnie Littell, Mondovi and Mrs. Avis Sypher, Portland, Ore.
