Description	:	Lewis Orlo Moehle, 89, of Mt. Pleasant formerly of Stockport passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery rural Mt. Pleasant with Reverend David Bracht-Wagner officiating. Friends may call after 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will not be present. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant or to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in his memory. Orlo was born on February 9, 1931, at Winfield, Iowa, the son of Carl and Gladys (Smith) Moehle. He was united in marriage to Helen M. Willis on April 4, 1953, at the Pleasant Hill Church, she preceded him in death on February 18, 2016. Orlo farmed in the Stockport and Mt. Pleasant communities, enjoyed arrowhead hunting, playing the piano and writing little stories and poems. He enjoyed gardening, raising two gardens and giving away his produce to others. He was a former member of the Stockport Lions Club and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. He is survived by his children, Diane Patrick of Mt. Pleasant, James (Laura) Moehle of New London, Norma (James) Panther of Iowa City and his son-in-law; Eldon Taeger of Hillsboro, four grandchildren; Tom (Karin) Panther, Brendon (Brianne) Panther and Marcus (Mercedes) Taeger, and a step-granddaughter, Tanya (Adam) Robertson, four great grandchildren, Kennedy, Wade, McKinley and Olivia, his sister, Joanne (Dale) Orr of New London along with several nieces and nephews. Orlo was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Susan Taeger, two sisters, Dorotha Cadwallader, Mary Jean Wells, two brothers, Carl William Moehle and Norman L. Moehle, and a son-in-law, Steve Patrick.
