(46944127 ) 11-2019 ~~~~~ Lewis was son of James Teague and Abigail "Abbie" Hamblen. He is a younger brother of my greatgrandfather Green Clay Teague. Lewis was not counted on the census of Claiborne County, Tennessee, enumerated 12 Nov 1850. The last child on that census was 2 year old Abigail Teague who died about 1855. Lewis may not have born before 12 Nov 1850? He was on the 1860 census as age 10 and his date of birth on the 1900 census was Nov 1849. I believe that date should be Nov 1850. Lewis had an affair (Abt 1878) with Mary "Mattie" Gross which resulted in the birth of a son, named James W. Gross 1880-1962. Lewis then married Martha Chadwell in 1881. A clipping from the 22 Apr 1928 edition of the Knoxville Journal for Jacksboro, Tennessee dated 22 Apr 1928 revealed Mr. and Mrs. James Gross attended the funeral of Mr. Lewis Teague at Clairfield. --11-7-21 thanks to James 49587222 for parents, birth/death date and additional info.
