Description	:	The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23rd in St. Agnes Catholic Church of Kenmare for Lewis William Hoffman, 81, Kenmare, who died Wednesday, July 20th in a Minot Hospital. Burial was in the church cemetery. Officiating at the service was Father Joseph Adkins. Music was provided by the Church Choir with Maureen Munch as organist. Pallbearers were Mark Hoffman, Alan Schmitz, Donald Jessen, Donald Hoffman Jr., Gregory Hoffman and Robert Hoffman Jr. Mr. Hoffman was born on June 17, 1902, in Jackson, Minn., a son of the late John and Theresia Hoffman. As a young man he came to the Bowbells-Kenmare area and married Florence Lundgren on March 27, 1925, at Bowbells. They farmed in the Bowbells and Kenmare area, and he also worked in the coal mines there for 16 years. In 1935, they moved to Kenmare and he became self employed as a carpenter. For four years he had also been employed by the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Kenmare. A member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Mr. Hoffman was also a charter member of the Senior Citizens here, and a former director of that group. He also belonged to the church Holy Name Society. He is survived by his wife Florence; four sons, David of Gillette, Wyo., Lowell of Cottage Grove, Minn., Robert of Minneapolis, Minn., and Donald of Leeds, N.D.; daughters, Mrs. Betty Schmitz of Kenmare and Mrs. Louis Jessen of Hutchinson, Minn. There is one brother, Albert of Coulee Dam, Wash., and one sister, Mrs. Ann Kaas of Sauk Centre, Minn. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
