Description	:	Lexton DeLane "Dan" McKnight, 56, the beloved husband of Renee Collins McKnight, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, March 18, 2012 at the Lake City Community Hospital. Mr. McKnight was born a son of Marion Frances McKnight and Elizabeth Dorease Burrows McKnight on August 15, 1955 at Tuomey Hospital of Sumter, SC. He was employed as an Assistant Manager for Makers Finance Company in Lake City, SC and attended Prospect PH Church in Johnsonville. Mr. McKnight was born a son of Marion Frances McKnight and Elizabeth Dorease Burrows McKnight on August 15, 1955 at Tuomey Hospital of Sumter, SC. He was employed as an Assistant Manager for Makers Finance Company in Lake City, SC and attended Prospect PH Church in Johnsonville. He and his dear friend, Frankie Cox were the owners and operators of Carolina's Finest DJs performing for many years together. Mr. McKnight was a United States Army Veteran receiving the National Defense Service Medal while serving in Germany as a Reconnaissance Specialist. Dan and Renee were married on February 11, 1995 and recently celebrated 17 years together. They were blessed with their beloved daughter Ashton Dorease McKnight. In addition to his wife and daughter Dan is survived by five brothers: Henry (Carolyn) McKnight of Summerville, SC, Jimmy (Erika) McKnight of Fayetteville, NC, Glenn (Johnnie Mae) McKnight of Pamplico, SC, Roger (Sue) McKnight of Scranton, SC and John (Lynn) McKnight of Florence, SC; three sisters, Doris Ann (Roger) Dennis of Manning, SC, Elizabeth Yvonne "Von" (Johnnie) Stone of Coward, SC and Marilyn (Wayne) Tilton of Scranton, SC; and fourteen nieces and seventeen nephews. He was predeceased by: his parents and one brother, Wardy Laverne McKnight. A Celebration of Life with Military Recognition will be 2 PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2012, in the Prospect Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment with Military Honors will be in the Garden Of Devotion directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-9 PM, Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012, in the Prospect PHC sanctuary. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the McKnight family.
