Davis Dead Napoleon B. Davis, an early resident of Winfield, died last Thursday evening at the Old Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge. He was born January 26, 1840, in Illinois, being seventy-seven years old at the time of his death. He came to Kansas in '68 and a number of years later moved to Winfield, where he resided until five years ago when he and his wife went to Fort Dodge to make their home at the Old Soldiers Home. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the Civil War, serving in the Second Illinois Infantry. The body will arrive here Sunday. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the residence of his son Noah Davis, 408 East Tenth Ave. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife and two sons, Noah Davis and Chester Davis, both of Winfield.
