She was born Oct 30, 1911, to Robert and Ida (Young) Houser, in Bethany As a young girl, she grew up in Lincoln and attended Lincoln Public Schools. She then moved to Michigan to live with her aunt and uncle and attended high school there. She married Allen Sutter on Dec. 16, 1936, in Denver, Colo. The couple went into fulltime ministry in 1960 with the Assemblies of God, serving churches in Colorado, Nebraska and Iowa. Mrs. Sutter was very involved in the ministry as a teacher, in the women's ministry and filling the pulpit when necessary. She was also a telephone counselor for the 700 Club for several years. She moved to Bethany Healthplex in 2002. Mrs. Sutter enjoyed crocheting and knitting for family and friends and later in her life working jigsaw puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Allen Sutter; an infant daughter, Roberta Elaine; six brothers and sisters, Samuel Houser, Mae Hartshorn, Roy Houser, Charles Houser, Delmar Tanner and Edith Alton. She is survived by her five children and spouses, David and Sandra Sutter, Raleigh, N.C., Darlene and Richard Larsen, Aurora, Colo., Sharlene Scranton, North Platte, Linda and Dwayne Tenbrink and Daniel Sutter, all of Lakewood, Color; 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. A funeral service was held Sept. 27, 2004, at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel in Lakewood, Colo. A graveside service and interment is scheduled for 10.30 a m„ Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Milford, with the Rev. Dale Sutter officiating. Memorials have been established to Hospice of Peace, 2420 W 26th Ave., Suite # 200-D, Denver, CO 80211.
