She is survived by her 4 children, Marjorie Wallis and her husband Richard of Douglas, Rita Fichter and her husband Terry of Thurman, IA, William King and his wife Barbara of Gorham, ME, and Judy King of Leesburg, VA; 1 brother Joseph Moore of KY 8 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Vernon A. King in Jan. 2000; and 7 siblings. Born in Huntington West Virginia on July 18, 1916 she was the daughter of William Truman and Cora (Hood) Moore. They lived in Gloucester, RI before moving to Douglas, MA in 1955. Lila worked at Pine Harbor as a caregiver and cook and then went to work as a CNA, retiring at the age of 75. She was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Burriville, RI for many years. She participated and attended services at the Second Congregational Church in Douglas while living with her daughter. Lila was a loving mother and grandmother and a faithful friend. She always made each person in her life know that they were special. She enjoyed making crafts, especially during the holidays and was always busy with her home, family and friends. Lila's memorial service will be held on Sat. Sept.19 at 11 a.m. in the Second Congregational Church,289 Main St; Douglas. Her graveside funeral service will be held at a later date convenient to the family.
