Read More	Lillian Charlotte Levengood 90 of Kingston, WA. Passed away peacefully February 20, 2019. She was born August 12, 1928 in Hancock County, Iowa to Martin and Pearl (Butler) Gregerson. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold (Hal) Fay Levengood. They met in WA. DC while she worked for the FBI and he was active enlisted in the US Airforce. They were married April 30, 1949. Lillian and Hal embarked on a wonderful adventure together, moving from DC to Alaska, then Texas, Colorado, and finally landing to sink roots in Washington State. When they moved to Kingston in 1967, they had built a lively family of seven children, one eldest daughter and six sons. They purchased 10 acres off Lindvog Rd., locally referred to as “The Old Cabin Ranch.” It was a cherry orchard with a small home and a log cabin. The boys bunked in the log cabin until a tragic chimney fire burned the cabin down just after Christmas in approx. 1971. Despite losing the cabin, gifts and possessions, with true Levengood grit, the family pulled together and embarked on expanding the existing house to accommodate nine people. Certainly it was no small feat of fortitude for Lillian and Hal to keep order and maintain a nurturing home during this process. Their living space was so small that the kids slept on mattresses on the living room floor. Lillian and Hal worked tirelessly to provide for their family. While Hal worked swing shifts at PSNS, Lillian kept her family in order with the help of her daughter Terri. Lillian cooked, cleaned, and sewed for what amounted to a lumber camp of hungry growing boys. She managed her children and household with clever ingenuity, and true to her Danish roots, she kept a tidy and orderly house in the face of chaos and the unbridled energy of a large family. Lillian and Hals’s kids learned self-sufficiency and valuable skills throughout the process of creating and maintaining their homestead. The diverse set of collective skills they learned range from cooking, sewing, and household management, to auto and equipment mechanics, carpentry, electrical, engineering, and repurposing of materials and resources available within the community. These valuable skills continue to bless each of them throughout their individual careers and endeavors. Lillian was a classic midwestern beauty with butterfly delicacy, yet she was also a force to be reckoned with. She preferred to be called “Greg” in honor of Hal’s pet name for her that also denoted her maiden name. Lillian was not only a dedicated partner for Hal, but she was a loving mother, an acute financial manager of limited resources, light on her feet and always moving, stoic in the face of adversity, a lover of lilacs, and a lover of dogs (the family raised St. Bernards, and later in life she cherished a teacup poodle name “Buffy”). Lillian treasured her friends and neighbors, and she was active in her community. She also enjoyed “swing” and “square” dancing with Hal in their precious spare time. She possessed a feisty and tenacious love of life. Lillian loved her community of Kingston. She not only raised their seven children there, but she worked locally as a realtor at NW Realty, a bookkeeper for Kingston Lumber, a volunteer at Kingston VFW, and manager of Kingston cemetery. She lived her final years at a memory care facility, where she enjoyed new friends and earned great respect for her steel constitution, and her uncomplaining disposition especially in the wake of having 2 hip replacements at the age of 88 and 90. She gained the reputation of being the most determined walker anyone had ever seen – before and after her hip surgeries! Lillian is the daughter of Martin Gregerson and Pearle Butler. She is the granddaughter of Martin Edward Butler/Mary Ruby Morehouse and Peter Christen Gregerson/Nicholena P. Anderson. She is predeceased by husband Harold Fay Levengood, sisters Marjorie Opal Stayer, Luella Mary Bates, Carol Josephine Gregerson, Velma Lena Henciar, and brother Donald Ellsworth Gregerson. She is survived by her brother Stanley Martin Gregerson, her 7 children: Terri Lynn (Daniel) Dusek, Harold Lawrence (Marjorie) Levengood, Ronald James Levengood, Michael Todd (Ann) Levengood, Richard Paul Levengood, Gerald Scott Levengood, Rodney Wayne (Brenda) Levengood, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
