Hudson of Office Hall were her maternal grandparents, and her paternal grandparents were Nannie Courtney Inscoe Foster and Lucian M. Foster of Midway Farm. Graduated in 1939 King George High School class, where she had met W. Wilson "Dutch" Clare. Lillian and Wilson were married June 14, 1941,Wilson died in August 2007.
