Lillie was born July 30, 1920, in Burley, Idaho, daughter of the late John and Caroline (Koch) Knopp. At an early age the family moved to the Yakima Valley area, where her father farmed. She attended school in Wapato and graduated from Wapato High School. She was married to Roland G. Kissler on September 7, 1940, in Wapato. They lived in Yakima, Tacoma and several areas of the Bay Area were Roland worked as a civilian in the 9th Service Command at the Presidio in San Francisco and later at Fort Lewis as a Radio and Instrument Radio Tech. They moved to Moses Lake in 1948 where they had made their home since. Lillie worked for the Washington State Brand Dept. for many years and later as a florist for Lakeview Flower Shop. She had devoted most of her time to caring for their son, Clinton R. Kissler, until his passing in 1967 from a terminal illness. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, reading and time spent at the family cabin hiking and out of doors. She was a former member of the Moses Lake Garden Club. In addition to her parents and son, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2003, a sister, Ruby McDonald and two brothers, Roy Knopp and Albert Knopp. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Paterson and husband Glenn, Spokane; grandchildren, Janeen Arnold and husband Ted, Seattle, Lt. Col. Jeff Paterson and wife Laura, Rapid City, SD: four great grandchildren, Luke and Taylor Paterson, Evan and Lea Arnold; one sister, Shirley Ruttner, Conn.; one brother, Harold Knopp, Yakima.
