Description	:	Lillian J. Brain, 88, retired postmaster of Thorp, died Wednesday evening at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. She was born in Prosser, April 5, 1893. The family moved from Prosser to Roslyn and settled in Thorp in 1901. She and James B. Brain were married in Prosser in 1913. He preceded her in death December 18, 1950. She served as postmaster in Thorp for 40 years, retiring in 1963. She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and the Thorp Garden Club. She served as postmaster in Thorp for 40 years, retiring in 1963. She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and the Thorp Garden Club. She was an avid gardener, flower arranger, fisherman and horse fan. She is survived by two sons, James T. Brain of Ellensburg and Booth Brain of Santa Rosa, California; one daughter, Pat VandeBrake of Thorp; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Anna and Mary Lechman, both of Ellensburg, and Betty Lechman of San Francisco, California. Rosary will be at 8 p.m., Friday, February 26 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Ellensburg. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 1 p.m., Saturday, February 27, also at St. Andrew's. The Rev. Richard Wuertz will officiate and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St. Andrew's building fund. Ellensburg Daily Record, February 25, 1982
