Read More	For 92 years, Lillian Gregoire was many things to many people … a brilliant business woman, an accomplished seamstress, a sharpshooter, a fun-loving card shark, a tireless volunteer, a devout Catholic, a loving wife of over 60 years, an avid fan of the Twins, Monday Night football, and all things sports, a fiercely proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mostly, we will miss our friend. Lillian Arp Gregoire, age 92, of Winner, SD passed away on Wednesday, November 9, at the Avera Rosebud Country Care Center in Gregory, SD. Lil was born on October 26, 1919, in Witten, SD to the late Hans and Marie Jares Arp Moses. The granddaughter of an original Tripp County homesteader, Joseph Jares, she grew up on his farm, later in Witten, and then lived the rest of her life in Winner. A national high school debate champion, Lil graduated from Winner High School and pursued her career in Winner, first with Omaha Cold Storage Company and then for the U.S. Department of Agriculture at the ASCS Office. Lil married Don Gregoire on May 1, 1943 in Salina, Kansas where he was in training with the U.S. Army at Camp Phillips. While he served in the Philippines in World War II, she lived in Oakland/Alameda, CA until his discharge in 1946. Lil was an active member and leader in her profession: South Dakota ASCS Organization, National ASCS Organization, and Retired Federal Employees Association. She was an active member in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church: Church Council, lector, teacher, Catholic Daughters, Junior Catholic Daughters, and many fundraising and advisory committees. And Lil was an active member in the Winner community: Winner Women's Club, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Business & Professional Women, Toastmasters Club, Community Theater, and a founding member of the Tripp County Historical Society. Lil will always live on in the memories of her son, Mik and daughter-in-law Peg of Warminster, PA; her five granddaughters, Michelle (Chris) Fogel of Lancaster, PA; Meghan (Derek) Baker of Elkins Park, PA; Jennifer (Pete) Reid, Glenside, PA; Brigitte (Mike) Pauzano, Collegeville, PA; Danielle Gregoire, Fort Lauderdale, FL; and her six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Simon, and Sullivan Fogel, Lancaster, PA; Maggie, Catie, and Ellie Baker, Elkins Park, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Arthur Moses, and her husband. fFuneral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Winner. Burial will be in the Winner Cemetery. There will be a prayer service on Wednesday at 7:30 PM at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the church.
