Lillian Lydi Fixsel was born March 7, 1879, to Louis and Christina Fixsel in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, and died in Carpenter, South Dakota, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Perry, on Thursday, August 5, 1937, at the age of 58 years, 3 months and 29 days. She lived in Pottawattamie County until the age of twenty-two years when she moved with her parents to Woodbury County. She married Fred Colyer in 1904; he died in 1918. Five children were born to them, and a daughter, Ruby and a son preceded her in death. In 1926 she married William Duncan of Bryant, South Dakota, but he died in 1931. She moved to Anthon in March 1932 and kept house for her father until his death four years later. In April 1936 she married Richard Auen of Wall Lake where they lived until her death. Survivors include the widower, three daughters, Mrs. Marie Heath of Westfield, Iowa, Mrs. Esther Schinke of Emerson, Nebraska, and Mrs. Lucinda Perry of Carpenter, South Dakota; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Heimann of Carson, Iowa; Mrs. Kate Brown and Mrs. Lulu Rupp of Anthon and Mrs. Lizzie Pridgeon of Sioux City; two brothers, Fred and John Fixsel of Anthon and thirteen grandchildren. The remains were brought to Anthon for burial. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church Monday afternoon with Rev. F.O. Johnson officiating. Interment was in Lucky Valley Cemetery.
