Description	:	LOHNES, Lillian Viola - 94, passed away peacefully March 14, 2005, in Northwood Manor. Born in Mahone Bay on October 21, 1910, she was only 12 when, due to an accident, she was left blind. She then attended the School for the Blind in Halifax and worked at Moirs Ltd. for 35 years, attaining a supervisory position. She was actively involved with the CNIB and held the position of president of The CCB Matinee Club for a number of years. Lillian loved playing the piano and keeping abreast of political and public affairs. "Aunt Lull" would always remember her nieces... She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Lapadula, Medford, Mass.; nieces, Millie St. James, Florida; Mabel Fuller, Barbara Clark, Audrey Davies, Carolyn Callahan, North Easton, Mass.; Mabel Robinson, Hubbards; Roxie Smith, Lunenburg; Florence Lohnes, Calgary; Linda Fougere, Halifax; Nancy Lohnes, Rosebay, Patricia DeRoache, Sackville; nephews, Arnold Daurie, California; David Saulnier, Middleton. Lillian was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Slaunwhite, Myra McKay, Isobel Lohnes, Hazel Saulnier; brothers, Edward Bernard, Arnold Lohnes, George Lohnes, Eugene Lohnes, and Gordon Lohnes. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be at a later time. Donations may be made to Canadian National Institute for the Blind or a charity of choice.
